A number of companies are aggressively pursuing development of earth orbital launch capabilities, to support multiple applications, including commercial passenger travel and exploration and development of new space domains. New launch capabilities can result in a substantial increase in the amount of material delivered to orbit at significantly reduced cost, offering opportunities for business and government efforts. 4Frontiers intends to capitalize on many of those opportunities, focusing on in-space and surface systems while purchasing transportation services from the new launch providers.
4Frontiers recognizes the economic potential resulting from the convergence of four current and upcoming space frontiers – Mars, Earth orbit, the Moon, and Asteroids. The company envisions the emergence of an inner solar system economy, based on development of, and trade between, these locales. To further the company's understanding of emerging space markets, a team within 4Frontiers has created an economic model of these developing space domains. The company will use this understanding to forsee and capitalize on opportunities within the new economy.
4Frontiers is organized as a transitional business poised to participate in every step towards a Mars settlement, beginning with pursuit of near term contracts in a variety of space industry sectors. As technology advances towards Mars so will 4Frontiers through strategic business relationships involving earth orbital and lunar programs of NASA, European and other space programs as well as privately funded programs. Development of intellectual property applied to the four frontiers, R&D programs, educational and demonstration programs for students and the public at large are central elements of the company’s business plan.  4Frontiers has assembled an extensive team, has a number of initiatives underway and is seeking corporate, government, private and institutional partners to participate in near term initiatives. These include the proposed research and informative entertainment facility and the pursuance of unique Mars and space system intellectual property.
